In 1970/71 during the presidency of Antoine Bathish the people of Nazareth through the efforts and persuasion of PP Habib Boulos and the Rotary Club of Nazareth, the sum of I.L 70.000.- was collected to be sent to Jordan for the Palestinian refugees there, but later plans were changed and the sum was transferred to Affula Hospital for the newly started heart section directed then by Dr. Bar.
